Westlakes Zone Cross Country will be held at Rathmines Park on Monday April 26. All students that qualified for Zone have been given a permission note and these along with $3 are to be returned to school. All students will walk the course at 10:00am before the carnival begins. Please make sure you are early.
There will be no canteen or coffee available due to COVID restrictions in place at the time of organizing the event. Students are expected to wear sports uniform, appropriate footwear and a school hat.

Any or all events may be re-scheduled due to time or weather restraints.
9.30-10:00 am – Competitors arrive / Pre carnival meeting for officials
10:00 am – Competitors walk the course
10:40 am – 8/9yrs boys 2000m 11:00 am – 8/9yrs girls 2000m
11.20 am - 10yrs boys 2000m 11.40 am – 10yrs girls 2000m
12:05: pm – 11yrs boys 3000m 12:25 pm – 11yrs girls 3000m
12:45 pm – 12/13yrs boys 3000m 1:05 pm – 12/13yrs girls 3000m
RULES :
• ALL competitors must wear school sports uniform and have their name with their age written on their right forearm.
• ALL competitors MUST wear shoes during the event, spiked footwear is not allowed.
• No assistance is to be given to any competitor to complete the race by any spectator.
• No pushing or tripping on purpose is allowed. Spectators are to keep off the track.
• No water is to be consumed during the event. Asthma puffers are permitted.
• Any protests are to be lodged within 15 minutes of the completion of the event by the accompanying school teacher.
• The first SIX competitors, at the convener’s discretion, in each event may be invited to compete for the Westlakes Zone Team at the Hunter Regional carnival.
The carnival is a selection trial and competitors are expected to compete in all conditions. It is unlikely that the event will be postponed due to the weather conditions, unless the course is deemed to be too dangerous for competitors, officials or spectators. If the event is postponed, there are several back up dates. If postponement occurs it will be broadcast on KOFM and NXFM, please listen from 7am.
